Denver Holt's Owl Presentation at Flathead Audubon's Nov. Meeting

Denver Holt gave an entertaining and insightful overview of ORI’s extensive projects over the history of the organization at the Flathead Audubon Society in November. He takes us through a synopsis of what has been learned over the life of ten major research projects on owls; Snowy Owl, Pygmy Owl, Saw-whet Owl (breeding, wintering and migration), Boreal Owl, Long-eared Owl, Short-eared Owl, Great Gray Owl, Barred Owl, Winter Raptor Survey and Lemming Survey.

Objectives of these projects include population monitoring, and conservation related issues, such as; Arctic tundra conservation, grassland conservation, and snag (dead or decaying trees) conservation within forest habitats, which are important for some species of nesting owls. Watch on YouTube.
